he just wants people to talk about him. I can't imagine him being a good father.

Fuck that. Plants are a lot harder for me to keep alive than my dog.

He is not in a place to adopt, and any agency worth their salt would not allow him to. I think he wants to be a father because he is looking for stability and erroneously believes that he’ll straighten up once he’s a father.

He’s probably just desperate and dreaming big and not actually looking at the reality of the situation. It’s kinda like when I dream about moving countries and how everything will be better there without looking at visas and stuff, but at least if I tried to action that and failed, it would only hurt me.

What he and the people in his life really need to do is get him sober, DBT, and proper medication, but he doesn’t do that, cause it’s hard and not fun, and his yes men don’t do that cause then they can’t bum drugs off him anymore, and his work don’t care so long as they can continue to profit off of him.

I agree, especially on the last part. I can’t imagine a qualified and informed doctor signing off on the inspection process (which may be why he’s saying that he would co-parent with his mom).

As a parent who has been diagnosed* with borderline personality disorder, his words and thinking don’t surprise me. I just hope that someone who truly loves and cares for him can make him see how bad this idea is.

* - was diagnosed, then another doctor said it wasn’t right, and yet another saying that it could go either way - thanks, American health care system!

Seems like he wants a kid to be able to feel loved, which obviously comes with having a child but is a lot of pressure to put on a child if you're not receiving love elsewhere. Also he seems to think with the "would keep me around, keep my head up" part that it'd cure his depression/suicidal ideations which is also a lot to put on a child.

Hope he gets to have a kid, but when he's emotionally ready for it to be a good situation for them both.
