I'm very, very glad Tina Turner ended up doing "Goldeneye" (one of my favorite Bond songs), but "Searching for the Golden Eye" is an interesting song in itself, but I wouldn't have seen it as that particular movie's theme. (Though I wonder what the opening sequence would've been like since it's more upbeat rather than dramatic.)

Don't agree with the original article's downplay of "For Your Eyes Only" - Sheena Easton was fine. "World is Not Enough" is definitely underrated, and Shirley Mason's vocals are beautifully haunting.

Wasn't Duffy's "Rain on Your Parade" a rejected Bond theme? I think I remember reading that somewhere.

Aww, after hearing Blondie's interpretation of "For Your Eyes Only" - I really liked it, but admittedly I've always liked Debbie Harry's vocals.

Lana was always tailor-made for Bond I'm surprised they didn't go with her for Spectre.

My Lana Del Rey Bond song is Body Electric, I think it sounds more Bond.

Florence definitely has the vocals that would carry a great Bond song (and this song's fantastic). I hope they choose her to do one eventually.

They should ask Lana to sing a Bond theme. Her sound, songwriting and aesthetic are a perfect match. Her album Honeymoon is filled with Bond type of songs, most notably “24”.
