Something about the 1990s just got the best screen adaptations of FHB's books

There's other adaptations of A Little Princess, for instance, that I liked (I have a soft spot for the Shirley Temple movie and the 70s BBC mini-series), but I have to agree. Cuaron's '95 film is arguably the best.

The '93 Secret Garden is hard to live up to.

I saw the 1993 version in a theater last summer for the first time in years.
I ended up sobbing in the arms of a stranger.
The soundtrack and seeing it on the big screen did me in.
93 is the only version that matters.
I feel the same about Little Women. The new version was awful.

John Lynch with the long hair in the 1993 version was everything. Also, Dame Maggie Smith.
