This year's @BAFTA is turning the red carpet 'green' with a new sustainability-focused dress code. Celebrities have been asked to wear sustainable options or re-wear an outfit they already own.

I love the idea of them wearing something they've worn before, but with a new take, like those "1 Dress, 4 Outfits" posts you see on social media.

It's more about setting a trend that hopefully events like these will follow.

Do we need all these award show?
How about one big, more inclusive Award show?
Or videoconferencing award show

Hence the bigger (more categories, more inclusive) or videoconf options

These award shows are mostly about celeb congratulating each other, while drinking bad champagne and telling the average joe taking a plane is bad
It's very narcissistic and pompous
+ it seldom rewards people who deserve it

Also I'm not american and would gladly get rid of the oscars (and cannes)

I think you are taking a very america-centric view. the academy awards won't even consider a Nigerian film because it isn't in a foreign language. One big inclusive award is not going to happen. For instance the BAFTA has a "rising star award" and "best british film" category all that would be lost in the pursuit of one award show. the shows are already too long as well.

It will, the whole luxury industry is changing. The biggest problem is fast fashoin though, which sometimes pays lipservice, but mostly is just awful, and they're not going to change as their who business models are tied up in unethical practices. The only way to combat those is education and changing consumer habits.
