I'm torn between revisiting Chinua Achebe or Wole Soyinka, because I haven't read either in over a decade, or reading someone new -- out of what's in this post, The Fishermen sounds the most appealing to me right now

The Fishermen is excellent. I read it for a class two year ago, and I kept the book because I thought it was so well done.

It’s the perfect book to kickstart you into reading. I’d gone a few months without reading and after I finshed this I read like 15 books

Thank you the this post OPs! I was planning on reading Purple Hibiscus, since it's the only book by Adichie I haven't read yet, but I'm also tempted to read Under the Udala Tree. There are a lot of great choices here!

You should read both of those if you can! They are both very good.

I had read My Sister, The Serial Killer for last year's challenge. Stay With Me and The Fisherman both sound interesting so I'll likely choose one of those.

I think I'm going to read My Sister, the serial killer. I've had it in my computer and started it once but got distracted. This is the perfect opportunity

Thank you! I've been awful about texting lately. How have you been?

No worries because I've been shit at communicating the past few months lol. I'm ok, just been busy and a bit stressed. But how are you! I haven't been in a book post in forever, it feels! :) I was a bit disappointed that I didn't read much last year, and I totally flopped at the reading challenge itself last year too...
