Disney eyes "Captain Marvel 2" for 2022 release

Marvel is moving forward with Captain Marvel sequel (shocker!)
They have tapped rising scribe Megan McDonnell, a staff writer on the Marvel-based series WandaVision.
Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, who co-wrote and directed the initial film hit, will not return to helm the sequel but are in talks to remain in the MCU and direct a possible Disney+ series.
Marvel is looking for a female director to helm the sequel.
The new story will reportedly move the setting from the 1990s of the original movie to the present day.
Marvel is eying a 2022 release for the movie where it would join Black Panther 2 (dated May 2022) and Ant-Man 3 (rumored).
