Joker Oscar makeup bake-off presentation apparently focused on the difficulty of working with Joaquin. He would walk out in the middle of hair dying/ disappear in between takes. Maintaining continuity was so rough that the continuity lady quit. He also didn’t like being touched

At the Oscar makeup & hair bake-off, the Little women team said they had to volumize everyone’s hair to “match Chalamet’s luscious locks”

(2/2). The team responded that they only had some time to edit the reel and they figured people would have seen the film by now

For some reason, I’ve watched most of the big Oscar contenders this year, when I haven’t done that since like 2007. Parasite has been my favorite.

Same here! I've seen almost every film listed here and that's pretty rare for me since I don't head to the movies much anymore. I really liked Parasite, Little Women, Joker, and OUATIH, I still have to sit down and watch The Irishman.

To be honest, The Irishman and Marriage Story were kind of a chore to get through for me. Idk, maybe I was just burnt out, but they were so “blah, who cares” for me.

Preface: I think Parasite is the best film of the year and one of the best directed from the last 10 years. The entire cast is perfect too ( ... )

Ranked choice voting probably works well in its favor for Best Picture though. I actually feel more confident about BP than Best Director.

I think it'll def get a nomination for Best Picture but I don't know if Hollywood is ready for it to win. Here's hoping.

As for the other categories, Song Kang-ho has been campaigning hard so he has the best shot out of all the actors.

I love Song Kang-ho. It seems like he pops up in every other Korean film I’ve seen at this point.
