Sam Gold, the director of the Tony winning musical Fun Home, is reportedly set to direct the adaptation of the musical for the big screen. The musical, based on Alison Bechdel's graphic memoir, shows us glimpses into Alison's life at several different ages as she comes to terms with her sexuality and her relationships with her family, particularly her father. Jake Gyllenhaal will reportedly produce and star as Bruce Bechdel, the main character's closeted father.
