There really is so much pressure to do something on NYE, it's annoying

I'm going to spend NYE with one of my best friends who lives in a different city, and I haven't seen in him a while, and we were planning on going to his co-worker's NYE party that she planned for weeks. But 2 days ago she cancelled, because her and her husband have been fighting about it, because she hosts a lot of parties And now it's a bit shitty because we don't have any NYE plans, and everyone else already has their plans sorted because it's something you typically plan, my friend in particuar is really annoyed with it, we see it like a bit of a dumb reason to cancel, especially if you had a bunch of people RSVP. And his partner is out of town too :(

But anyway, we decided to host a little get-together with couple of his friends, and our old co-worker, so hopefully that shapes up!
