"if u don't like them, just tell the gift giver directly"

^^ THIS!! We we know each other well enough to be exchanging gifts, the least we can do is be honest about our gifts. I appreciate the recipient telling me that my gift was not right for them. I don't want to waste my time buying things that they're just gonna re-gift, it defeats the whole purpose.

I buy socks as a supplement gift for ebery family member each year and feel personally attacked LMAO. Only fun patterns or funny socks with an image of something I personally associate with that person.

I think the best/worst for me would be clothes. I used to get clothing that was either too small or too big or not my style. But my grandmother found me this really cute blouse one year and I still have it.

Pretty much anything from my dad. He's big into thrifting and rummage sales, so he'll save up things he gets throughout the year to give to everyone else.

My aunt buys things throughout the year and gifts them at Christmas and birthdays and it's so impersonal imo, it's not like she buys the stuff with specific people in mind she just buys it to buy.

My guy’s aunt was into bargains so if she saw something cheap, she would buy it and save it as a present regardless of whether it fit or the recipient would like it. That’s how Mr. SS inevitably ended up with things like an XXXL t- shirt in a shade of diarrhea brown at Christmas.

I’d rather you give me nothing. At least that way I don’t have to smile and pretend to like it aka lie in front of everyone.

One of my favorite skits:

But for real, socks are always good gifts. Don't try me
