tysm! i didn't include tamino since the album was released outside the us in 2018 but he was def someone i listened to a lot this year.

As I get older and see these year end music lists, I get reminded that I don't listen to that much new music. This was my favorite song of the year, the guitarist is giving me Isley Bros vibes.

Hate Sam Smith's voice but otherwise I'm pretty sure I've never heard any of these, whoops. Love the post idea, though, and I'm gonna try listening to some of the women's songs*. I don't pay attention to when most music comes out, so the only thing I can think of off the top of my head is that I'm kind of obsessed with Noah Cyrus's "July."

*Edit: I am now obsessed with Clairo's album, so thank u OP because I had never heard of her.
