Last Sunday me and my daughter watched the 94 version together. I told her she'd cry when Beth died and she thought I was bullshitting and then it happened and she cried.

Winona says that it's one of the few movies of her she actually watch because she really likes it and it was such a special experience.

This is very wholesome! I saw it for the first time this year, and it really holds up. I definitely cried, and then asked my mom why we hadn't watched it as kids, lol.

I loved that Gillian Armstrong was so gracious about the new one, too:

Plucked up courage and saw the new Little Women. And loved it. Very different!
Brave new structure. Fantastic cast. And yes the message sadly needs to be stronger for this generation.Hopefully now men will see and vote. #gretaforoscar

Awww I love all of this! So many cute anecdotes. <3

Also it was absolutely the right decision to have separate actresses for younger and older Amy. IDG why they didn't do this for the new one because in the clips I've seen of them as kids (like when Amy burned Jo's manuscript) they seem too close in age and it's just weird imo.

Exactly. I don't like what I've seen of young and old Amy. It makes no sense to me

Sometimes I'll feel like torturing myself and watch the scene of Jo rejecting Laurie on YouTube. Christian/Winona had the best chemistry of the Jo/Lauries. I think Saoirse and Timothee's friendship is cute, but I doubt they'll beat the '94 pairing.
