I think this decade made celebrities more approachable. With twitter and instagram and then, Jennifer Lawrence being more, relatable kind of thing. Or in general, anyone can be famous. With influencers and youtubers being a thing as well.
It used to be you had to be kinda talented (or nepotism) to be somewhat famous, now it's a free for all.
I don't get how Adele's "Hello" was so popular. It... has no melody? Was it just that everyone was so pumped for new music from her that anything would have been loved, or is there an appeal to that song that I'm missing?
I think it was that damn sepia video with flip phone and long nails and leaves blowing in her hair that made everyone so stoked. That SNL skit really sums it up.
