Yeah that's what I was thinking. Zayn pretty much relies on his pretty boy looks to do the promoting for him lol.

his management are good tbh. they've given him a lot of great connections and managed to create this air of mystery and Coolness that his fanbase has lapped up. plus they're more selective with what promo he does unlike liam who just goes to anything. tbh i'm not sure why niall isn't doing better because he's a harmless white man who makes ballads so i would have thought people would eat that up but i guess harry's ambiguity on everything works better.

Yeah they were also smart to go at this as a slow burn imo. With the first album he wasn't too forced upon people, so I think that gave them leeway to reflect, rework some stuff and try again for the 2nd album's sound/image.
