idk if you have Hulu but last week's 20/20 episode was about the infamous Florida Switched at Birth case and it was super fascinating

also interesting (and infuriating because oh my god, cops are the worst) is the new one on Netflix, The Confession Killers

I just watched an older one this weekend that's been on my to-watch list for awhile, Searching for Sugarman. I really enjoyed it, it has a quiet impact. It's about two men from South Africa trying to find out what happened to an American musician who was hugely popular there, but who very little was known about (largely due to the person, but also in part because of censorship during apartheid).

Literally just finished watching this on Netflix yesterday. It made so angry that pos was able to do so much harm and get away with it.

it was hard to watch, like Leaving Neverland. I have a pretty strong stomach for true crime but watching the victims speak of their assaults is brutal. Important to get the truth out there though.

it took me like three days to get through Finding Neverland. I have a super strong stomach. (even witnessed an autopsy for school back in the day) but yeah, listening to those boys was just.

i felt so sick. and the thing i remember is that the internet can be an echo chamber. more people i've talked to offline who've watched that, have come down on the side of the boys than not. by miles. it gives me hope that people see it and that it's just the online uber stans who are so unreasonable.

seriously, its been almost 30 years. im so proud of the survivors for not shutting up or giving up - finally having people say "we hear you and it's fucking time he is held accountable" , that must be a mixed bag of emotions for them all, and i really hope they are receiving the proper care now, so they can heal these wounds.

I will 100% be watching this amazing series. I applaud the filmmakers for taking these stories to such a high level of importance - we KNEW this shit was happening for YEARS and NO ONE DID SHIT AND I AM SO FUCKING ANGRY. i know someone who's friend was in this world. and no one fucking believed her, or they blamed her for her abuse. it makes me absolutely sick.
the first season made me sick to my stomach. im a survivor myself and hearing the stories told by the survivors, it was extremely hard to watch. but i watched because it's important to HEAR these stories and let these survivors speak their truth.
and it's time to hold this monster accountable. fuck r. kelly.

These women are incredible for continuing to speak out. I hope they have support and get justice.

The amount of black people defending him and trying to compare it to Harvey Weinstein not being in jail yet is just too much. One of the safety officers at my work went on that rant and I straight up had to tell her that I'm not engaging with it. She's been salty with me since

There's a guy at my work (he's black) who I'm pretty cool with, and surprisingly he was pretty much defending him too, saying he'd still play his music, doesn't let anything personal effect what he'll listen to and seeming dismissive about the issue altogether. I didn't press it because, well, time and place and didn't seem like my place. But I wouldn't have expected him to be okay with it

This! Its the same defense I've seen used for Bill Cosby. Like just because one predator seems to be getting away with something doesn't mean we should give a pass to the others. I get so pissed with people using that excuse.
