Ah well. It's a waste of the leeways granted by Amos's general disposition. They're gonna have to try hard on this because Prax and Amos 🔥 set a high bar.
Unfortunately, I blame Ty and Daniel for that. They can shout from their twitter that Amos is bi Aromantic, but when he's pursuing someone sexually, it's always a woman. Naren is following their blueprint, hence me blaming them. And yes, we'll have to see how any sexual partner Amos has matches up to Praxos, and you know it won't. I do actually like the character he gets involved with, in the book, so we'll see how this whole thing is handled, I guess. Book writers never gave us Praxos, so of course the show never did either, but it'll always be my headcanon.
I just started this, so I'm only on Season 2, but I've been enjoying it so far. I keep getting told that Amos gets better but for right now, I would not give a shit if he was released through an airlock.
Oh man, I love Amos, both on the show and in the books. You get some hints of his backstory and why he is the way he is in s1 and 2. If you're on s2 and don't like him, I don't think that'll really change in s3.
I'm only 2 episodes into S2, so there's still time for me to warm up to him. I've gathered that he hasn't had the easiest childhood, so I try to think of that when he acts a certain way. I do love his friendship with Naomi, though.
In the latter half of s2 there’s a great dynamic with Amos (and yes, I love his friendship with Naomi). Amos’ childhood messed him up completely, it’s something they haven’t fully fleshed out on the show but do later in the books, but they do hint about it in these two seasons. A bit of it is what he told Holden in s1- he genuinely wouldn’t know whether airlocking Holden is good or bad, but Naomi wouldn’t like it, so he doesn’t. His moral compass is faulty, but it’s why he attaches himself to people like Naomi, good people, whose judgement he trusts. Anyway, maybe he’ll win you over, maybe he won’t, as long as you enjoy the show. I still dislike show!Holden, people won’t love all the characters.
