I side eye any white person that likes plantations. I don't fuck with people that don't care about the history because it's "pretty".

Props to The Whitney in Louisiana for using the plantation to educate on the horrors that actually occurred there and on other plantations at the time. Plantations shouldn't be privately owned venues but memorials to the people who lived and died there.

i just went to a plantation last month and there was a weird white couple on my tour and the guy was much older trying to get all touchy feely with the woman...while we were learning the history of the plantation

Yeah, I side eye anyone that finds plantations great event or entertainment spots. Like Paula Dean having black servers at her plantation party.

Someone made a great comparison where they said you wouldn't hold a wedding at a concentration camp, so why would you have one at a plantation where people were raped, tortured, separated from their children, and killed.
