I agree that bottled water is so dumb and wasteful but like how many flights has Jason taken? People freak out about little things while they're busy killing the planet
I agree with your overall point, but a lot of people can survive perfectly without flying. Unless you have family on another (end of the) continent or really need to fly for your job, you don't need to fly. I'm an academic and a lot of people are starting to speak up against stuff like pointless obligatory project meetings, when 40 people from all around Europe have to travel to meet physically for half a day, when a Skype conference call would be sufficient. It's good to change stuff like that. Also I'm critical of people who fly somewhere for a weekend literally only bc there are cheap plane tickets. Like are the two days of you eating overpriced food and taking cliche photos in Paris really worth all the environmental damage?
But ultimately while individual choices matter, we need to collectively & legally fight the big polluting corporations who refuse to give up their business model which keeps killing the planet. At this point just seeing the Shell logo raises my blood pressure lol
Like a skype interview is gonna bring as much money as a live one? Their actual presence is what brings money, not their abilities to answer questions.
mmm i'm thinking more about a culture shift for the sake of our future and not the monetary aspect. late night shows make sense but actors do a bunch of other day time interviews, and press junkets that can be easily done via Skype.
lmfaooo yes you absolutely can. we just don't want to. you could use this same logic for every other thing that pollutes the environment like fast fashion, meat, water bottles, etc.
this is why so many countries are trying to turn to high speed rail as an alternative and of course another thing the US is lagging behind on.
people freak out about plastic straws when it’s a Fortune 100 companies that are primarily responsible for killing the planet, they’re just gaslighting regular consumers into thinking its our fault and putting the onus on us to fix shit
