I was gonna say based on the summary that it sounded like Kindred by Octavia Butler but that trailer didn't seem like it at all.

Sounds like they took the idea and mushed into something else. Too bad-it's a devastating book and would make a powerful movie in the right hands.

Yeah, I would kill for a really well done film version of that book. I honestly can't think of any director that would do it justice though.
