it's bad enough what she did (and what she and her husband attempted to do with the other child) but to then go on tv to explain that you thought your kids were so dumb that you needed to commit a crime for them to succeed is a whole nother level of humiliation
I think the "spin" she needs to focus on is that she hired this person a year before the prospect of cheating ever came up. They hired a tutor / coach for her daughter (a normal thing to do). It was a year later when the coach insisted that her daughter wasn't smart enough, and the option to fix the score was given. She didn't go into it looking to cheat, but took the oppourtunity when it was given to her.
I'm not defending her, but the context has kinda been lost in comparison to Aunt Becky, who (from what I gather) was flat out looking to cheat from the start
tbh the fact i didn't know any of this proves your point, they have been lumped together so maybe she could focus on that. but it's still no excuse, as you said.
I feel that, but also... if she wants to work again she's gonna have to do the interview so she may as well rip the band-aid off now while it's still a story, rather than waiting a year or two and digging it all up again. It also makes sense to get it out of the way before Aunt Becky's trial starts, since Felicity did way less in comparison.
Honestly, after reading all the court files (I legit got a PACER account to get the documents LOL) I really get the impression that if she were able to explain herself in a one-on-one she could get a lot of sympathy. Of course ONTD isn't buying it, but if we were the ones making and breaking careers then a lot of popular people would be out of jobs LOL
I honestly don't think anyone will ever believe her unless it's her telling her story out loud. The court files really explained it well, but it was pretty useless because there wasn't any emotion behind it. IDK though I'm not a PR agent hahaha
