Rob Lowe isn't ashamed of the sex tape he made with an underage girl.
While on the SiriusXM radio show, the 55-year-old actor says the fallout from that tape is what helped him get clean.
“I think it’s the best thing that ever happened to me. Honestly, I do, because it got me sober. Sober got me married. I’ve been married 29 years and I have two great sons, so I don’t think any of that happens without going through that scandal.”
He continued, “It was one of the reasons I got sober. I woke up one day and was like, ‘What am I doing with my life? 29 years in.'”
The actor caused controversy in 1988 when footage leaked of him engaging in sexual acts with a 16-year-old girl. He was 24 at the time.
He says he only has one regret, “The problem was, I didn’t make any money off of it like everybody does now. I was too stupid.”
Uh, okay.
