i tried to send something back today / order something else but the waiter was dismissive and the people i was with started laughing so i just sat there and didn't eat anything. i really didn't want to pay for a meal i hated but it's whatever now lol. good reason to go places alone tho.

That sounds like a shitty experience! What was wrong with the food?

nothing, really. it was brunch so the menu was really limited and i was confused, so i just ordered pancakes, and they were really huge pancakes covered in powdered sugar. it was really just too sweet for me, i can't eat super sweet food, and i didn't get more than a few bites before i was just overwhelmed. i wanted to send it back and get something more savory or order something with it but ~ ah well.

it was probably my fault, i should've taken more time to decide what i wanted. but i don't think i'll be going back to that place. it was a lot of money to spend on limited selection

tbh i don't believe it was your fault.
you weren't satisfied with the food and customer service should have taken you seriously. as for your friends, let them laugh while you're eating something you like next time. It's your time and money being spent with them and at that restaurant and you deserve to have a pleasant experience all around <3

I’m trying really hard to think of something but I don’t think I’ve ever complained in a restaurant... if something is that bad I just don’t go back again

I think it really depends on the type of restaurant it is. I'm sure restaurant owners prefer that customers bring issues up during their meal instead of complaining on Yelp or something, but I doubt most of the people in the kitchen generally feel the same way.

I don't ever say anything unless they really fuck the food up and put meat in it or something.

i usually just eat the food anyway and then express comments to management just bc of food waste reasons/not all restaurants compost
