Leaving to see Ad Astra in a bit. Thank you AMC for not charging extra for Dolby.

My mom called me in a panic and I thought someone had died. Turns out she heard from her friend that Downton Abbey is selling out and she was worried she wouldn't be able to get a ticket for todays afternoon showing, so she wanted me to buy her and her friends advanced tickets through the app but she didn't know how to do it... so that should give you a clue as to who is going to this movie, lol.

Hope they got themselves good backend deals, cause it cost like nothing to make this. Really gonna be annoyed if Maggie Smith ends up getting nominations for this shit like she seemingly always does.

Aww, that's a sweet story tbh.

I bought tickets for random people in the back of lines when we had theaters just so I could get those sweet sweet rewards points.

Seeing Downton in a few hours. I'm kind of a casual fan, but I'm taking my mom and I'm sure she'll go nuts. Saw Ad Astra yesterday and I actually kind of regret opting for IMAX, as I gradually realized that it's not really 'about' space travel at all and the format was ultimately distracting to me. [Spoiler (click to open)]I kind of guessed that would be the case just from knowing James Gray's other movies, and I'm actually kind of really impressed that Hollywood was willing to make a huge, expensive, special-effects bonanza that was really just a quiet daddy-issues indie drama in disguise. Though judging from the Reddit comments [I know, I know], that misdirection definitely didn't work for some people, especially because the trailer really made it look like a thrilling sci-fi adventure. But I think I really liked it.

Also saw Sword of Trust last night, and while I'm not sure if it was actually saying anything Deep about the dangers of weird Internet conspiracy theories or not, it was hilarious and I adored Marc Maron in particular. Seeing Villains tomorrow ( ... )

I’m glad that movies like DA are doing so well.

Watched Between Two Ferns (movie), Mr Inbetween s1 and I decided to rewatch Downton just to refresh myself on the early Mathew/Sybil years. I forgot what a snob Cora was in the beginning.

I feel like it's rarely acknowledged, but I think she had a lovely character arc over the seasons. I think season 6 Cora is great.
