Bette Midler schooled for calling on Beyoncé fans to defeat Trump

Bette Midler made a tweet yesterday about how Beyoncé should use her fanbase to mobilize against Trump for 2020:

#Beyoncé has 133 million Instagram followers. More than double the people who voted for Trump. Wouldn’t it be amazing if the #BeyHive mobilized to defeat him? I also wouldn’t mind if a regular bee hive fucked his shit up.
- Bette Midler (@BetteMidler) September 19, 2019

However that backfired quickly, some members of the beyhive weren't happy about Midler's request, saying that Midler should ask her white female counterparts to convice their fanbase to keep Trump out of office:

Being that 98 percent of black women voted against Donald Trump, you should probably hit up Katy Perry or Taylor Swift. Stop depending on Black Women to save everybody.
- Jemele Hill (@jemelehill) September 20, 2019

Other people agreed with Hill's statement, noting that the big majority of black women didn't vote for Trump, while 52% of white women voted for him:

Why, exactly, is that *our* job? Holla at the 52% of your folks who wouldn't support their own. Gather them first, and some of them are in the hive...

Over the years Beyoncé has used her huge platform to encourage fans to vote and let's not forget she and her husband endorsed Clinton during the 2016 election, she evan gave a speech during HRC rally in Ohio , telling voters to: "think about the future of our daughters, of our sons, and vote for someone who cares about them as much as we do."

Roxane Gay and Valerie Complex also called out Bette Midler:

You should probably talk to the 53% of white women who voted for Trump instead of expecting black women to carry this water.

Have you spoken to white women?

This is not the first time Bette Midler is getting rightfully called out for her bullshit about race issues, let's not forget when she tweeted "Women are the n word of the world"
