Premiered on Friday 13th, Marianne, the new French horror series from Netflix, tell the story of a horror writer and how a spirit from her books and childhood comes back to haunt her.
The series has already been positively compared to giants of the genre like the ring and other Japanese horror movies, hereditary and Stephen king.
A coastal setting, slow horror scenes, subliminal flash-frames, chanting children, muffled pianos and stabbing violins traced back through the likes of Wes Craven, Stanley Kubrick and Alfred Hitchcock and the acting from the cast, have garnered it raving reviews among fans.
