It's immortalized in the video for 'Don't Speak' -- basically they were told it was gonna be the whole band for the cover, and they ended up just using a shot of Gwen. The other band members were upset.

I think the band showed up to do the cover, but they cut the rest of the band out and only had Gwen on the cover. The guys got upset about it and I think upset with Gwen. The music video (not the song) for Don’t Speak was about them almost breaking up as a band.

ETA: which if they did get upset with Gwen about it, it’s not like she controlled it? But I guess the guys didn’t want to be ignored. Still not in her control though
