I adored this film as a kid. Dickon was my true love lol

But it took me ages to realize there were two adaptations that I watched that I kept merging together and thought I was going crazy.

This looks cute tho the cgi is a choice.

this was me up until a month ago when i rewatched the first one after like 20 years and kept waiting for them to be older and ruin everything by killing off dickon...

that and i was mindblown when i googled and found out that colin firth played colin

The 1993 adaptation is probably the best, but I really enjoyed the 1949 version with Margaret O'Brien as well. I also remember there being another version, I think in the late '80s or maybe a couple years before the '93 one. I remember the girl who played Mary in that one being REALLY annoying, lol

The 87 version which is apparently a Hallmark movie. The Mary in that gives up on trying to do an accent, and it's sort of endearing how it's all over the place at the beginning

the '93 version is perfect to me, but i do love the o'brien version too. i was shocked at how much i enjoyed it bc i usually feel like she overacts in her movies.
