I absolutely loved this movie. I’ve been waiting for it since Annapurna (lol) announced it and my expectations were so high that I was lowkey preparing for an inevitable letdown. But it fucking delivered! JLo truly deserves all the awards buzz. Her last scene had me fucking choking up which I did NOT expect.

Idk what the fuck Ellison was thinking letting this one go. It’s a four-quadrant hit through and through.

I mean... I doubt she thought it would be a blockbuster. I was surprised at how "indie" it felt, in comparison to the marketing / trailer.

Yeah but I mean it’s such an easy commercial sell and had the indie grit to get those reviews, to boot. Lorene had been working on the project for years and JLo was already passionately attached. Just seems like a no-brained

I feel like the more I think about her performance the more I liked it. I def think the film wanted you to believe [Spoiler (click to open)]that she was gonna be more villainous than she turned out to be, and there were glimpses of it, but she kept her heart and who she was to her core. You could feel that by the end.

Definitely. I LOVED that the Dorothy/Ramona relationship was at the center of the story.

her work ethic is inspirational. I need her to be my life coach but I can't afford her.
