This is basically a list of possible Best Actor Oscar noms, ranked in order beginning with best, from the editor of RogerEbert.com.

Adam Driver in Marriage Story Robert Pattinson in Lighthouse Taylor Russell in Waves Hugh Jackman in Bad Education Jonathan Pryce in Two Popes Joaquin Phoenix in Joker Antonio Banderas in Pain and Glory Adam Sandler in Uncut Gems
no hanks? I actually haven't read reviews on "Wonderful Day In the Neighbourhood" yet. Are critics liking it?
Also I'm sad not to see Dev on this list. I read he was fantastic in The Personal History of David Copperfield. The movie itself might not be Oscar baity in general though?
I think these are best lead performances, and Hanks would be supporting in Wonderful Day.
I don't know if the critic saw David Copperfield. He didn't see everything, I know that. And Taylor is a woman, so these are the best leading performances he saw, both male and female. He just thought most of the best acting was done by men in films at TIFF this year.
I'm really looking forward to Copperfield as well. The reviews I've seen have been positive, but I've only seen three so far. Too busy today to get caught up.
oh gosh, I just read the list super quick and didn't notice Taylor's name in there! That's good to know! I read a couple reviews saying DC is Dev's best performance to date, so I'm hoping he gets some award buzz!
