IDK why, but after reading Felicity's letter and then seeing the media reaction to it, I feel a little bad for her
everyone is picking up on the "I wanted to give my daughter a fair shot" line, which sounds awful / idiotic out of context. She was talking about her daughter's learning disabilities / sensory issues, and feeling as if she didn't stand a chance of getting into an acting school because of her math grades, which is a fair critique of a lot of admission requirements. She also says that she hired the person who ran the scam well before there was a scam in place, just trying to get coaching on how to help her daughter get in...
MAYBE I'm the idiot, and her letter did what it needed to for me though LOL
I didn't feel badly for her (except for the fact her husband didn't get sentenced, too), because it's not like this was her kid's only option. I don't recall what schools made the list or if it were released, but it's not like she couldn't have gotten a decent theater education with a lower SAT score.
The SATs are trash. Admissions are hella problematic. Work to change the system for all, not just so your kid who has so many resources can get in.
