Reese Witherspoon will be called to testify about her ex-husband Ryan Phillippe in the assault case by his ex-girlfriend, Elsie Hewitt. She is one of several witnesses listed for the October 15th trial, which also includes several ex-girlfriends of Phillippe's. Reese and Ryan were married from 1999 to 2007 and have two children together.

Witherspoon is listed as a witness and will be questioned and cross-examined by Hewitt and Phillippe's lawyers. Hewitt's lawyer also wants to question Reese about her marriage to Phillippe.

The trial is regarding an incident in which Phillippe allegedly assaulted Hewitt at his home in 2017. Hewitt was granted an Emergency Protective Order after telling police that Phillippe "hit," "kicked," "punched," and "threw [Hewitt] down flight of stairs causing visible injuries to legs back, arms, shoulder and face" when she went to retrieve her belongings after their break up.
