I just rewatched that cycle and I agree, if caridee got out of the water like they said she should have, they would have said she was complaining and “models have to freeze in water for the shot all the time!!!”

binge watching some of these cycles years later really emphasizes how horrible some of the critiques, challenges, and shoots were

That one where Jada was forced to pose with a guy who kept saying he didn't like black women and thought they were unattractive but was chastised for complaining about it was pretty awful. I get that verbal abuse in modeling is something that they have to accept is going to happen but that was way too fucking far and the fact that no one in charge stood up for her was disgusting.

also: when Keenyah complained about a male model breathing heavily on her and constantly trying to grab her and she spoke up and they complained about it.

That was so horrible because the show really tried to hammer it in the Keenyah was wrong. They had everyone even some contestants say that Keenyah was just making excuses for a bad shoot. Glad times are different now because jfc.

Lol this show was a legendary hot mess. the blackface photoshoots (two fucking times), the way they treated yaya for being an educated black woman, the time they shaved a gap in some bitch's teeth after making a previous contestant close her teeth with unnecessary veneers

i remember an early season when one girl gained a little weight and they made her play gluttony out of the seven sins for a photoshoot. then the next week all the models were supposed to depict animals and they made her the motherfucking elephant. took me out
