tbh even if nothing "physical" happened persay, like you said at the very least he did lie and was manipulative and he had a lot of characteristics that was just messed up and not healthy for children. i dont understand how one can say that he was great enough to cultivate the image of king of pop and be this icon and a shrewd businessman but then also say well he was like a little kid at the same time.

MJ even fooled Paul Mcartney to buy the Beatles catalog.... and there are a lot of stories about him hating Prince and sending a curse to Spielberg etc. He just played the innocent act to lure kids into his home....but the fact that he changed his 'best friends' so often should be enough proof. when the 'best friend' became too old MJ replaced them. MJ was friends with a lot of kids for years, no was "replaced." Wade even said he was still "in touch" with MJ well into his adulthood and jumped at the chance to testify on his behalf. Wade's mother testified that she cut MJ off because he wasn't calling Wade enough in 1991.

The entire Me Too movement and everything related to it has taught me that WAY too many people don't get the most basic shit about any form of sexual abuse. I've heard so many "well, why were they alone with him" and "she was old enough to know better" and "it doesn't count if they'd had sex before" and "why didn't she IMMEDIATELY report it to the cops" and a zillion other similar comments that don't take any of the psychology of grooming/abuse/imbalance of power into it. It's incredibly depressing and has really opened my eyes to how this shit is allowed to happen so often. And of course we also know that people will bend over backwards to defend their fave celebs no matter what, so this is unfortunately unsurprising.

My mom was in the showbiz industry in our country and ALWAYS says that "well, I said no to all the lecherous, powerful men who wanted me, how come it didn't happen to me" like she's all proud and morally superior and EVERY TIME I have to tell her sexual abuse doesn't just start when the person doing it tries to fuck the unwilling person, it's all the grooming, the unwillingness to take no for an answer and a million other things.

You don't know what you dont know but to now believe Michael was innocent is being obtuse on purpose. I was young when the first victims came forward and didn't know much. It was actually after the death post that I looked at evidence from the trials and stuff. There is just no way around it. He did horrible things to those victims. You can't argue against it.
