Kirby Howell-Baptiste is everywhere on TV these days, from Barry to The Good Place to Killing Eve to Veronica Mars. She currently stars in Why Women Kill, and attended the premiere wearing a mostly thrifted look, which she says is reflective of her day to day fashion choices.
I have never found anything decent at a thrift store. Years ago I used to be really into it and would just go store to store for hours but eventually gave up and stopped doing it. I'm so jealous of everyone who has luck with this.
this is me. I've never found anything good while thrifting and I think it's cause I'm a common size. I'm absolutely baffled by people who have the luck they do and claim that everything they own is not from this century. I'm very much jealous.
i love thrifting but it used to be easier in denmark, where i was swamped w good 2nd hand shops. i've also put on weight since so less things fit me.
when i visited england last month i was surprised by how many good things i picked up in charity shops tho, i found a breezy dress that i wore to the florence + the machine concert, which was just a gift from heaven tbh. for only 3 pounds too!
I don't have access to a thrifting supply that would suit me but I definitely believe in it and my mom and grandmother love to pop into secondhand stores
I'm so glad for her in general tho - I first saw her during her turn on Drunk History and it's great that she's getting more meaty roles and recognition
I stopped thrift/charity shopping when I started to earn decent money - Oop. I'm trying to focus on quality pieces that last long, but this post is inspiring me to go back.
I'm plus size, so the selection in thrift stores has historically been pretty limited for me. But Nicole Byer talks about thrifting a lot, so maybe I should give it a try again.
Mostly just posted this bc I really like Kirby, I think she looks gorgeous in this photoshoot, and I am happy for her success.
