I always bawl when I see those videos of animals visiting old people homes and all the oldies just lighting up, so I am definitely for this.

I wish shelters would donate dogs and cats for this, instead of putting them down. Send them to nursing homes, prisons, schools. They could help so many people if they were given a chance.

i'm telling you now that i finally have cats it's made things easier for me
i don't know how you can tell that a kitten will be a good therapy cat but i trust beth's judgement as i've been following her foster work on her instagram

I bet it's all about how much they like to cuddle and how easy going they are. If they are a kitten who hides from people or wants to be around people. Plus, they say that cats actually help your heart rate when they lay on you and purr

Yeah cuddling and I bet the more chill kittens who aren’t as keen to run around an explore are good candidates. Little lap kitties 😭

I want a cat so bad I hate allergies

What part gives you allergies? Is it the actual touching of the cat? My mom has them bad for the fur in the air, on her pillows, bedding, etc and it makes her have a stuffed up nose, scratchy throat, watery eyes, but we found that getting a cheap (like 20 dollar) air filter that she can turn on in her bedroom clears most of it up. Something about the way it pulls the fur and dander out of the air really helps her. If your's aren't super severe, maybe something like that would help!
