the smiths being scientologists seem weird to me because dont they basically break all of their principles? are they just in it for the money?

they might just recruit people idk? scientology is a big Hollywood business so maybe thats how they get the perks without being actually part of it?

Don't most celebs in scientology break the rules? I mean the celebs are usually catered to and don't live the life that people lower down the ranks live. Even people like Tom Cruise who are hardcore into it doesn't live the same way an average person would while being in Scientology.

I don't know for sure, but the entire cult is about the money lol

Everything surrounding Jett Travolta was extremely sad, and I feel really bad for John and Kelly. Unless this person actually witnessed it this is a sick thing to speculate on. :(

It costs to get in and only the leadership makes money. So if you work really hard...[It's set up like a pyramid scheme]

Nah you already need to have money to go anywhere in Scientology that would seem beneficial. If you're poor they don't care about you

absolutely not. it's a great way to make sure you're in debt your entire life, because they will loan you money for expensive and mandatory courses in order to progress in the cult. these courses never end and become increasingly expensive. i know someone who has easily spend mid six figures over the course of a couple decades and all he has to show for it are shitty books in big plastic cases with scifi/fantasy type drawings on the front
