My job is fine. I don’t want to be here forever or in this industry forever. But I want to stay here long enough and move up in the company so I can get the skills and experience that I could use in other industries.

pre-k sped para (assistant) - like the job (most of the time), hate the bs/work politics that come with working at a public school

I was a special ed assistant and yeah... public school politics suck. But the principal at my school was fired for embezzling money, so...

yea, my principal isn't that great either ...she's a huge gossiper (despite telling us not to gossip LOL), not to mention she's run the school into the ground since she's been there (we went from a B school my first year to a D school school this past year [my 3rd year], and i'm pretty sure we'll be an F school this coming year). her hiring choices for sped this year have been horrendous (i.e. she's hired people for pre-k sped who can't physically chase after/keep up with the kids -- i mean they're 4/5 year olds!! THEY RUN...A LOT.), and i've requested numerous times to be moved out of sped into a non-sped pre-k class and to please consider me for future openings....and both times i've had a chance, she strung me along for a month before i found out she had one of our long time subs in mind for the job all along...i was pissed b/c it would've been nice to have been told she had someone else in mind instead of stringing me along and making me think i had a chance at pre-k. while i'm grateful she gave me a chance 3 years ago, i don't ( ... )

my job is in a bit of a flux - every time I come in a new manager or cashier has either quit & found a new job or been fired. It's been a very nerve wracking month because I always felt like I loved my co-workers more than the job itself but now all of that isn't present. The work isn't too-too bad most of the time - fast food - but in a way I also feel like I couldn't go anywhere else after so long? blah

Yeah that feeling sucks, when people you get close to leave. It's also what's kinda scary about moving up or moving on, not all places have good people so it's like you hope you can make friends wherever you to

If you’ve worked in fast food for a while, you’ve probably survived the worst of what society has to offer. You could make it almost anywhere with that experience.

Same! I work in a group home, been there for years. I've seen so many people come and go. We can't keep a manager for longer than a year, staff either quits or gets fired. And now an employee I enjoy working with is out on an allegation, because he pushed an individual off of him who started hitting him while his back was turned.

I don't like my current job. I haven't been happy in my field for years. But I'm stuck here until I finish school.
