Todrick Hall says Scooter Braun is homophobic, Todrick gets called a scammer, Demi Lovato chimes in

Jun 30, 2019 18:19

@todrick this is disgusting and defamatory statement. We dropped you after finding out you were stealing from your fans on your Christmas tour. Scooter has been nothing but supportive of all disenfranchised groups. He is against dishonesty. Not those living in their truth.
- Allison K Scarinzi (@AllisonKaye) July 1, 2019

Todrick Hall, a friend of Taylor Swift's and former client of Scooter Braun, said on twitter that Scooter Braun is an evil, homophobic person who only cares about his wealth and feeding his disgusting ego. Allison K Scarinzi the general manager at Scooter Braun's "SB Projects" said that this is a defamatory statement and Todrick was dropped for stealing from fans on his Christmas tour.

I truly hope justice is served and that my friend’s music will fall into the hands of a better human.
- Todrick Hall (@todrick) June 30, 2019

Also........Men sending women in (their wives) to carry out their patriarchal bullshit is the worst form of feminist and human betrayal of all time - looking at you Yael and Hailey
- Todrick Hall (@todrick) July 1, 2019

I would normally not say anything because I’m sure scooter will threaten me like he has before to keep me quiet, but guess what Scooter, nothing you can do to me would be worst than the 6 years of my life I can’t get back from when & I was ignored as your “artist”
- Todrick Hall (@todrick) July 1, 2019
Todrick followed up on his original tweet and said that Scooter will threaten him to keep quiet like before, but nothing he can do can be worse than than the 6 years he was ignored as one of Scooter's clients and artists. He also said on Taylor's situation that he knows from Scooter's own mouth that Scooter isn't a Taylor fan, that he hopes her music will fall into the hands of a better human, and that men (Justin and Scooter) sending out their wives (Hailey and Yael) to carry out their patriarchal bullshit is the worst form of feminist and human betrayal of all time.

Scott Borchetta responds to Taylor:

In regard to a post earlier today from Taylor, it’s time to set some things straight. https://t.co/OqGI4GoN3P

Allison and Todrick threaten each other with screenshots:

Oh you dropped me??? Ok, we can play the screenshot game! Why don’t you tell Scooter to pay them since he promised in front of my agent to fund up to $500k for my album and then went ghost. But you wouldn’t know because you were never involved.
- Todrick Hall (@todrick) July 1, 2019

I was never dropped, in fact...I was practically begged to come back. If anyone’s a thief it’s scooter for taking money from me that he did absolutely nothing to earn. And this is the most effort you’ve ever put into anything regarding me...
- Todrick Hall (@todrick) July 1, 2019

Have I had several failed business affairs absolutely, but they probably wouldn’t have happened had I actually had the management I was paying for every month. Let the screenshot game begin!
- Todrick Hall (@todrick) July 1, 2019

Stop taking money from artists that you’re not actually working to manage, give me my hundreds of thousands of dollars back for services I never received and I would be able to pay them more quickly, and just for the record they have been paid now, no thanks to Scooter!
- Todrick Hall (@todrick) July 1, 2019

And just for the record, I have never stolen from anyone...just took longer than expected to pay them back since the backing I was PROMISED didn’t come through.
- Todrick Hall (@todrick) July 1, 2019

Welp, I guess they let me go...also I’d like to say this was TWO YEARS after I did the Christmas tour and supposedly stole from my fans 🙄 pic.twitter.com/CEzL7Gluvh
- Todrick Hall (@todrick) July 1, 2019

Also, why posting a pic of a call sheet from over a year ago is helpful is curious to me. I have no shame in my hustle and grind to make an entire visual album with no label and no help. It took me 8 months to pay off an 800k project by myself and I’m not ashamed of that.

Scooter isn’t homophobic because he has gay clients... is that really the argument you wanna make, Demi. Also, the “hey boo” super condescending... pic.twitter.com/Wj2EjhFQAi

Iggy Azalea defends Taylor Swift from those claiming that Taylor knew about Scooter purchasing Big Machine in advance of the  news going public:

Telling someone about a deal days before it’s public means the deal was already done & she never had the opportunity to even make a bid to own her own work. These deals take months to negotiate in long form. https://t.co/Ra7NdxzcOM

Martha Hunt supports Taylor:

Taylor doesn’t deserve for someone who has constantly BULLIED her to OWN THE RIGHTS to her blood, sweat, + tears. It’s not the dark ages - artists shouldn’t be held down, and I couldn’t be prouder of my friend for standing up for what’s right. End of story.
- Martha Hunt (@MarthaHunt) July 1, 2019

This is about protecting artists. Taylor courageously exposed a grown man who has time + time again proven his obsession with holding her down, like his reputation precedes him. He doesn’t deserve a morsel of control over the archives of her past.
- Martha Hunt (@MarthaHunt) July 1, 2019

Sad day for music, esp considering Taylor’s generous contributions to the industry. :(

Todrick has responded to Demi despite saying he was going to sleep:

Dear Demi, first off...why did you delete your tweet? Secondly, I love you and listen to your music religiously, but thirdly, you cannot compare your experience to mine, especially with someone I was with for six years and you've only just signed with.
- Todrick Hall (@todrick) July 1, 2019

PSA, Just because you have a black friend doesn't mean you can't still be racist. And just because you're not picketing against gay marriage doesn't mean you're not homophobic. I said what I said and I believe what I believe.
- Todrick Hall (@todrick) July 1, 2019

Also, stop using your one client who identifies as queer to stand up for you. There's no way Demi saw my tweet, that means someone from your team is reaching out to them, using them to defend you. Fight your own battles.
- Todrick Hall (@todrick) July 1, 2019

Being black and gay in this industry is hard as hell, and was even harder when I signed with that man and unless someone has walked in my shoes...I don't care to compare their experiences to mine. Period!

I think I included all the updates of anything that hasn't been in the two other posts right now. But I will try to update if there's any more news from those involved or celebs reacting with statements (I'm not going to post updates about celebs liking or unfollowing since the post is already so long and that isn't really significant news). Also I didn't realize, but there was something up with the coding of this post where a lot of the tweets didn't show up, so I fixed it.
