I don't understand why they didn't cut back on doing case-of-the-week stuff in these episodes. It feels rushed and the main arc is so much more intriguing. The most recent episode was the second time I've noticed that they've skipped past the scenes where they catch someone to go directly to the interrogation room, where they explain to the person they caught what they found him or her doing.

I really love this Sherlock and Watson...and I've never been very critical of the writing in past seasons, but now I wish the writers were a little better at what they do. There's so much potential! All it needs to be is a little less rote and by the book. They could have flexed their creative chops a little in the last season.
