it's depressing how his anti-environment neoliberal agenda -- which, I agree, is definitely up there among the most alarming aspects of his presidency -- isn't really all that much debated in Brazil. it's fucked up.

Also, this isn't covered in the doc because it's very recent but it's equally relevant to understand what the fuck is going on in Brazil:

Brazil’s Justice Minister Sérgio Moro, while serving as a judge in a corruption case that upended Brazilian politics, took to private chats to mock the defense of former Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and direct prosecutors’ media strategy. https://t.co/zR6RAaqQqB

I was going to ask if anyone knows, is the consensus in Brazil that Lula was set up? How popular is Bolsonaro?

there's no consensus in Brazil. a huge % of the population has been brainwashed by fascism and will support whenever Bolsonaro (and Moro, the judge in charge of Lula's case) do. everything is as polarized as it can get.

Lula has arguably been set up and it's pretty obvious he didn't had a fair trial. his party was obviously involved in corruption scandals but the Brazilian media (which is mostly right-wing) and judiciary were successful in selling a narrative that made it seem like corruption was not a structural issue in Brazil, that is present at all levels, but something that was related specifically to Lula and his party. so millions have a visceral irrational hatred of him, even though he left the presidency with 86% approval rating and he successfully decreased inequality in Brazil.

will it show Obama's direct hand in creating the coup that ousted Dilma? that the CIA spied on her a lot?
