i think its not just a final season being bad, it really depends on the expectations of the fans and how quality the show had stayed. Dexter started to get bad long before the final season, it was a slow and painful death. Breaking Bad stayed very solid throughout, and the great final season only elevated the rest. Game of Thrones did start getting worse writing near the end, but season 7 left us with so much hype and promise, and it crashed and burned so bad lol. The failure of GoT is truly for the history books.

If you do just stop watching after 8x03 and pretend it’s the finale. After that episode plain logic and sense goes out the window. It’s not worth it after that, seriously.

I've been thinking of watching the Sopranos but I deeply loathed Breaking Bad for being: Men Make Decisions That Harm Themselves and Everyone Else the TV Show so I am worried I might not like it. There's a few of those prestige TV shows that I've never watched (Mad Men, too). But I was thinking of starting with Big Little Lies and Deadwood.

Obligatory: Six Feet Under's is the best. I miss HBOs intimate drama shows - it feels like everyone wants to go BIG! now bc of Game of Thrones and I am not here for it,

I watched Deadwood last month. I don't think it was amazing or anything, but it's entertaining enough, plus it's only three seasons.

Sopranos basically paved the way for the Breaking Bads and the Mad Mens of the world, Tony was the original antihero of television's golden age and he is truly fucking loathsome. Pretty much everyone on The Sopranos is an awful person, BUT I rewatched it a few months back knowing that and I was struck by what a hilarious comedy it was at times.

but, if you didn't like Breaking Bad, which imo is the best version of the antihero story because it's fully aware of how awful and destructive Walt's choices are, you probably won't like Sopranos.

Six Feet Under is the ending feeling I'll be chasing all my life with other tv shows

is it fair to say Men in Breaking Bad? I mean, I loathe Walt more than any other fictional character I've ever met, but I don't remember any other male characters being on his level of destructive blind arrogance. Then again I might be prejudiced by how deeply I hate him lol

Were you satisfied with the series finale of your favorite television shows, ontd?

Pushing Daisies and Carnivale didn't even have finales, so no.

Even though the creator has since spoiled how the rest of Carnivale would've panned out, I'm still bummed we never got to see it unfold on-screen.
