penny dreadful was an insanely frustrating show, there was so much good stuff but it was continually let down by the showrunner's inability to tie up a story argh. josh was surprisingly fantastic as the out of his element sensitive cowboy (he was way less interesting when he was back in america) and his and eva's chemistry, whew
