i'm glad "fifteen million merits" is high on this list, i feel like i never hear anyone mention that episode and it's honestly my favorite, besides "entire history of you"

same! i would pick "15 million merits" or "white bear" (before s3 came out) to show new watchers/get ppl into the show. it's v underrated/not talked about much.

Shut Up and Dance is not the worst episode, and San Junipero is overrated imo.

Shut Up and Dance is actually one of the rare times the show still felt like Black Mirror from S1 & 2 to me, when it was better.

Same about Shut up and dance, i think it was one of the best S3 episodes tbh.

yah shut up and dance is the exactly amount of fucked up i expect from black mirror

san junipero is fine, but like..... it only got attention really for the 80s nostalgia and lesbians. which, like FINE, i'm all about non straights storylines, but lets not pretend it would get the same attention otherwise

probably, but I think that was the point, though. the creators said they thought about doing a het couple but realized that with the stigma of being lgbt in the 80’s, it would be more poignant with a same-sex couple if later on, they’re finally able to live more freely. and kind of an eff you to the people who say “gay people will go to hell” since they go to some sort of “heaven”

and it’s a happy ending! :) it’s nice to be reassured that people like me aren’t necessarily doomed lol.

Okay, Shut Up and Dance made me extremely uncomfortable, but it doesn't belong at the bottom of this list. I like most of the top choices, though - I think about the premise of The Entire History of You more than most episodes.

Haven't seen the new eps yet bc I have been busy watching Killing Eve so I don't get spoiled for that. Peak TV is exhausting.

EP 2's main take away imo wasn't [Spoiler (click to open)] the main plot but that this social media company can supersede even the police with the amount of info they have on us and how they even have control over our most traumatic experiences and no one has a problem with it. it wasn't the best Black Mirror episode and I think the pacing this season was really off but I don't necessarily think it falls far from the Black Mirror ethos.
