i'd love to know how to transfer files [ie. videos i've downloaded to watch at the gym] from my macbook to ipad. everything i read seemed to say itunes was the way, but i never properly got it to work, hopefully whatever replaces itunes makes this simple!

What file format are you using? I think it's .mpv for itunes.

Documents App and just drag and drop it from the Finder

What does this mean for music/tv that’s been purchases through iTunes? Or if you don’t update your computer (or have a PC?)
