Michael Whelan is still around? I remember him from Dragonriders of Pern covers and when Saddam Hussein stole his art for his romance novels.

According to his gallery page, he did some art for Brandon Sanderson in 2014, so it looks like he's still relatively active in the book arena. But ha, I will have to look up those Pern covers.

Leo Dillon is deceased and Diane Dillon might be basically retired (she's in her 80s), but it looks like the rest of them are active in some form or fashion.

He's done stephen king covers, too, but I think he's most famous for Pern art. There's even a really old pern art coffee table book.

Locus has linked the rest of the books with Amazon links if you want to see covers/samples of the nominees or want to support Locus with a purchase (they are Amazon affiliate links or whatever they are called). Considering they have a Patreon, they are probably cash poor.
