Yeah, he has a lot of high-level friends still defending him. He was sitting at Matt Damon's table at the GG the year he was nom'ed. In 2016, I think? Jodie Foster still defends him. Etc, etc.

re: matt damon, to be fair actors don't really get to decide what table they sit at, the hfpa works out the seating arrangements. eg some movies with lots of nominations and huge casts get full tables, but other movies that only get a couple of nods will only get a couple of seats at a table, so other movies/casts in the same situation end up placed together.
