Every year when the sun is getting more intense, my skin goes to the gutters. I get red blemishes, my skin is angry red and when it gets warmer and I only wear short sleeves, my arms tend to get more pimples too. And I wear SPF fucking 50, for crying out loud

Doxy isn’t time release, so it makes me really nauseous so i gotta be on oracea
My rosacea is fairly mild and i avoid triggers, so it seems to work for me
My doctor assured me that it’s a low enough dose that it’s okay to be on long-term but i get your worries about it

But there are new topicals including a really great one that completely reduces redness. Problem is you can’t use that long-term, you just use it if you’re going to a wedding or special event or having your photo taken or something

I have one that’s like a lightweight wrap/scarf that works in the spring but not so much if it’s 100 degrees and humid
You MIGHT be sensitive to chemical sunscreen. Chemical sunscreen isn’t bad, per se, but not everyone can handle it. If you’re not using a physical or zinc-based sunscreen, you might want to try. You can get a very good, light feeling and non-sticky one by neutrogena. It’s called “pure and free” and it’s fragrance free and has a nice texture w/o leaving a white cast on most skin tones. Plus it’s affordable, but it’s in a pretty small bottle so i only use it on my face and hands. But the good thing with mineral sunscreen is you only need about a dime sized about for your whole face and neck so it lasts a long while

Another term to look for would be "solar urticaria", that's another good indication of what it looks like. It's not pleasant but it's actually pretty easy(ish) to avoid sun exposure through a combo of shade, clothing, and sunblock (I use physical).
