there's too much money in racing for tptb to care.
we'd need 90%+ of the public to support a ban for anything to be done, i'd say.
fox killers get away with their fake 'trail hunts' despite hunting with hounds being against the law (though some conservatives would love to revert that), and the public being heavily against hunts.

I'm from Louisville, Kentucky and every year we have The Kentucky Derby where people celebrate horse racing and makes it a two week event. I feel so bad for the horses and many of them don't live very long.

I don't understand the people who gather to watch it but don't bust out the crazy hats and mint juleps, like what even is the point unless you're drunk and looking like a fool?

I like to drink and go to cookouts but have never gone to the track. Fist fights have been happening at the actual Derby
