Thanks for making this post, OP - I feel like there are so few places to talk about this show I've occasionally had to resort to Reddit. I wish there were more places.
Summer is consistently amazing on this show, but she was insane in this epi. The very last scene with her and Lizard Elliot was so heartbreaking and beautiful.
Margo has been my favorite character for a while, but I genuinely like all the characters even when they're being assholes. I know some people feel meh about Alice, but I think the show does a good job of showing her perspective and how human her flaws are. Also I feel like typically the "arrogant genius" role is so typically relegated to dudes on TV series so it's cool when it's done with a female character.
As for random theories, I feel like Josh is the father of Poppy's baby. They've hooked up before so it would make sense that they would've again off-screen, and it would tie-in with Margo's whole "rules alone" thing.
I've also been checking reddit for this show just cause there's a lack of discussion anywhere else. It's dire.
Agreed on both Margo and Alice. The show has been knocking it out of the park with both of them this season, but especially Alice has gotten such great material. That scene last ep where she talks to her mirror self was rough but really laid her character bare the same way this one did for Margo. And it's refreshing how this show offers unlikable female characters and instead of softening them, just expects the audience to put up with them.
Interesting theory! I feel like we'll see Poppy again, just cause this show likes to throw in plot points that are ostensibly filler, but then end up being important. I can see the baby being Josh's. Realistically, they've got the set up for 3 romantic pairings right now so I'm expecting the show to axe at least one of them.
I agree so much about Alice and in particular, that last episode. She was so good. And she played the confusion and arrogance so well. It would be so easy for that character to annoying but the actress really makes her feel complicated and sad.
Someone pointed out one day that if Alice were a man people wouldn't hate him so much, and it actually made me see her in such a new light that when this season started I ended up enjoying her perspective and stories more. The show really does show how human she is and they do a great job with it.
