i wanna see the porno one lol, i like vanessa paradis

i saw room 237, a conspiracy theory movie about the shining. it interviewed like five weirdos with their far out theories on the symbolism of the film. it kind of started out interesting and credible with them pointing out al the native american imagery and how that tied in with genocide and the hotel being built on indian burial ground, then took off with some dude getting real loud about the shining being an allegory on kubrick's feelings about having faked the moon landing video and this woman who was really into labyrinths insisting that a poster of a skier was a minotaur. by the end i had that same bad feel as when i've spent too long clicking around twitter tbh. but, the music in the doc absolutely knocked.

oh and i saw the favourite. i didn't love it and tbh lanthimos is not for me. but the performances were all fuuucking fantastic. hoult was too young though

omg i know what u mean with Room 237. it started off cool and then by the end i was like uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

i tried to watch Dogtooth once and after about 15 minutes i turned it off, it was just nasty and i couldn't get into it. i am curious about The Favourite, though.

yeah p much, didn't help the guy behind me smelled like a urinal, i had to have a look at my life and my choices

the favourite was a v v handsome movie, really beautiful sets and dramatic lighting, and the main trio was just aaabsolutely fantastic. colman's oscar was well deserved but tbh weisz and stone were just as good imo. i was esp impressed with stone, didn't know she was that good.
but like, i like a story that actually goes somewhere, generally speaking

See Captive State tonight even though I haven't seen a SINGLE review, lol oops; seeing The Aftermath despite the reviews because Keira and that dress ♥♥; seeing The Mustang because I am determined that Matthias will finally, finally be appreciated in America. I had to wait five years for Rami, I'll wait for his fine Belgian ass too!!

Hopefully will get to Ash is Purest White soon as well. Not sure I care about The Hummingbird Project even though I generally like the cast. I also have to watch Battlefield Earth at some point soon because of WHM and I'm weirdly excited for the insanity of it all. (I wonder if the boys will get threatening letters for making fun of it, like all those reviewers who wrote about Going Clear.)

Good God no, who would want to see that. D: I mean, I've uploaded random videos in my life, but not in any organized way.

i love that you're so passionate about movies and film and lindsay ellis doesn't upload enough content to satiate my hunger for thoughtful, well considered and well balanced film analysis and critique through a pop culture lens.

I feel I've been hearing about The Mustang for 7 months.

Seeing Five Feet Apart tonight because I’m garbage and want to see how bad it is. Depending on how the showtimes work out I might try and see Captive State afterwards.

Is that Nancy Drew movie getting a wide release? I’ve heard nothing about it.

Yeah, it's going wide! I would have included it in the post, but it's a Warner Brothers movie so it doesn't qualify. :/ I am thinking it's gonna flop considering how little promo it's had, but hopefully audiences find it.

I guess it’s not doing Thursday night showings, but it’s in the listings for tomorrow. Maybe I’ll go see it ... because I have A-List and some free time on Saturday and that will not be a crowded theater.

Haven't gotten to the theaters lately, but I watched Legally Blonde and Enemy while we were on vacation, and I don't think I could have picked two more different films if I'd tried, lol. I liked them both, even if Enemy was a little less straightforward.

Gonna see Captain Marvel on Saturday night - with AMC A-list, I have turned into a Dolby snob and will wait to go see movies in that format. Could have gone this week, but the early showing is at 7pm and the late showing is at 10pm, neither of which really work timewise on a weeknight.

Still have a couple of things from the last few weeks I want to go see, plus The Aftermath and maybe The Mustang from this week.
